SAG HARBOR, N.Y. — Police arrested pop star Justin Timberlake overnight on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in New York, according to multiple reports.

Sag Harbor police told WCBS-TV that the arrest happened early Tuesday on Long Island. In court records obtained by News 12, police said Timberlake was found to be intoxicated after he ran a stop sign and failed to keep in his lane.

During a police stop, authorities determined Timberlake was under the influence of alcohol because “his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” according to court records. Police said Timberlake admitted to having had a martini before getting behind the wheel.

The “Selfish” singer was also cited for running a stop sign and failure to keep in his lane, his attorney, Ed Burke, told CNN.

Timberlake was released without bail following an arraignment Tuesday morning, with his next court date set for July 26, according to the news network.

Sag Harbor is a town in the Hamptons on the eastern side of Long Island, the “Today” show reported. Unidentified sources told People that Timberlake, 43, was arrested after having dinner at the American Hotel as he was driving to a friend’s house.

The arrest comes amid the former ‘N Sync crooner’s The Forget Tomorrow World Tour, which is next set to stop in Chicago on Friday. The tour, which kicked off in April in Vancouver, British Columbia, marks his first world tour in five years.
