Cardi B to host 2021 American Music Awards

LOS ANGELES — Cardi B will be the face of the 2021 American Music Awards, organizers announced Tuesday.

According to The Associated Press, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper will host this year’s fan-voted awards ceremony, slated for 8 p.m. EST Nov. 21 at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater.

“When I received the invite to host the AMAs, I was so excited,” the five-time AMA winner said in a statement. “I’m ready to bring my personality to the AMAs stage!”

Singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo scored the most nominations this year, followed by The Weeknd with six, the AP reported. Both are in the running for artist of the year, along with Taylor Swift, Drake, BTS and Ariana Grande.

The show will air live on ABC and can be streamed the next day on Hulu, according to an AMAs news release.
