LOS ANGELES — There was no shortage of electrifying performances or personal style during the 21st annual BET Awards, hosted by actress Taraji P. Henson on Sunday from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles with the theme, “Year of the Black Woman.”

DaBaby and Megan Thee Stallion entered the evening’s festivities with the most nominations at seven each, followed closely by Cardi B and Drake, who each received five nominations.

Meanwhile, rapper and actress Queen Latifah was honored with the 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award, and rap icon DMX, who died of a heart attack earlier this year, was the focus of a special tribute performed by Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Swizz Beatz, Griselda and others.
