Local Sales Manager - WSRV –FM 97.1 The River Reference # 293323

Job Description: The Local Sales Manager is responsible for working with the General Sales Manager to operate a customer-focused sales department that maximizes local advertising revenue. The WSRV Local Sales Manager will focus on developing highly talented account managers to overachieve spot, non-spot and internet revenue goals. The Local Sales Manager position is largely an in-field position not a desk job.

Responsibilities: Assist in the recruitment and development of highly talented sales professionals. Execute a plan that grows local spot, non-spot and internet revenue. Lead a positive and productive work environment. Training the sales department in sales and marketing utilizing resources of CSS (The Center for Sales Strategy). Spend time in the field coaching and developing Account Managers.

Qualifications: Minimum of 3+ years of successful radio sales management experience, success developing new business, success developing agency accounts, and marketing expertise.

Job Description:
Use research tools to assist our advertising partners in identifying and understanding their customers’ habits and needs as part of a comprehensive account management system that results in documented account growth.

• Work with account managers from each station to use information and research to their advantage in a customer focused manner.
• Communicate information to the sales teams and our advertising partners on trends and conditions that affect the Atlanta market’s advertising climate.
• Facilitate creative processes using Creative Problem Solving, Marketing Strategy Models and Brainstorming sessions as part of a comprehensive account management system that results in documented growth.
• Be an integral part of achieving and maintaining a sustained creative environment at Cox Radio Atlanta for the benefit of our listeners, employees and advertisers.
• Supervise and work in conjunction with all the key departments involved in our process and procedures to insure that our Key Accounts are receiving the highest possible level of customer focus on a consistent basis.
• Set a positive example of customer focus both internally and externally with a positive, friendly can-do attitude.

Qualifications: Outgoing professional person with excellent interpersonal communication, organization, communication, public relations and computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word. Prior experience in media sales, research (3-5 years) with presentation experience, including Power Point is required.
