Big Ry

What's Up River Fans! Hope everyone has had a fun, exciting, adventuresome, mayhem-filled, relaxing summer. Sure, it's still blazing outside, but time to go back to school, and back to reality. But that doesn't mean The River is winding down at all in 2010! We still have so many concerts to check out (Rush, The Eagles, ROGER WATERS!), The Rib-n-Rock Fest, and the one event of the year I hold very dear to my heart - The Atlanta 2 Day Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness. It's the first year that The River has taken on this massive event, and we'll be looking for your help in raising awareness and funds to help kick this nasty enemy out of this world forever! We got a lot to do for the rest of the year, and I hope we'll see each and every one of you at all our appearances, concerts and huge events coming down the calendar.
I was born in Concord, MA (becoming a REAL Celtics, Patriots and Red Sox Fan upon birth!). I moved down to Atlanta in 1995 and have been here ever since. I graduated from Roswell High School in 1999 and ventured onwards to try my hand at rowing and communications at Jacksonville University. From there, I transferred to St. Andrews Presbyterian College in 2002 and graduated in 2005 with a B.A. in Communications & Theater Arts. While I was there, I was fortunate enough to venture to Italy and studied for a semester overseas.
I was introduced to classic rock in sixth grade when my aunt Lynne handed me a copy of Aerosmith's Get A Grip. After becoming addicted to "Eat The Rich," "The Other Side," and "Walk on Down," I swiped Big Ones and Greatest Hits. Since then, through music loving roommates, friends and a pretty hip father, I became a self-titled music "snob." Now my CD books are overflowing with the likes of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Metallica, The Ramones, and countless other favorites. I haven't bought a current record in about three years, while trying to finish my libraries of The Eagles, ZZ Top, Van Halen, Rush and Eric Clapton. However, my other favorite genres include country and jazz, but my honest favorite is HEAVY METAL.

My other true passion is movies. Again, I'm not a fan of the movies that are being released these days, with all the remakes and crap flicks. I'm a huge Hitchcock, Scorsese, Coppola, Kubrick, and Ford fan. Horror is my favorite genres, with Romero, Carpenter, Cronenberg and Barker high in list of favorites.
Amongst other things, I love concerts, grilling, cooking Cajun, BBQ and Western style food, riding my bike, keeping my health up, playing my drums, and a hammock on the beach. I have an incredible girl named Athena who is introducing me to scuba diving and horses. Meanwhile, I try to stay traditional, focused and will put on a swinging good time wherever The River lands. Thanks wholeheartedly to all our fans and supporters. We'll See You In The Streets!!
