Hello River Fans! My name is Lauren. Music is one of my main passions in life and I'm not sure I could function without it, which is why working for 97.1 The River is my dream job! Although I just started several weeks ago, so far I have had more fun at this job than any of my previous ones and I am very excited to now be called a River Rat! I am looking forward to meeting all of you on the streets of Atlanta when I am out promoting the BEST radio station in Atlanta...97.1 The River!

Here's a little bit of background info on me: I grew up in Akron, OH and moved to Georgia in 1998. I graduated from Chattahoochee High School in 2003. Following high school, I attended the University of West Georgia for a couple years, majoring in Mass Communications but then transferred to Kennesaw State University for my last two years. I recently graduated with a B.S. in Communication and a minor in Business Administration.

While attending Kennesaw State University, I was a DJ for Owl Radio. My co-host and I were some of the first DJs that helped build Owl Radio from scratch to one of the best college stations in Georgia. Being a part of Owl Radio was so much fun and I learned a lot, which is probably what inspired me to pursue a career in radio even more. I had the chance of a lifetime, living and studying in Italy during the summer of 2007. I had the time of my life and learned more about myself than I ever thought possible.

I am very outgoing and I love to meet new people. I love playing outside (I’m not sure I’ll ever grow up!), reading, traveling, and enjoying the simple things in life. I believe life is too short to sit around and let it pass you by so live it up! I am very adventurous and love experiencing new things. Skydiving and bungee-jumping are some of the coolest things I’ve done and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is up for the challenge. Sometimes it seems that life can’t get much better than this!
