Woo-Who Half-time Show/Benefit Jam Next Weekend

I think the biggest thing I'm looking forward to with the Superbowl this Sunday is The Who's halftime show. I cannot wait to see them! I don't care much about who wins the game this time, though I'll bet the win goes to the team we Falcons fans love to hate -- The Saints. They certainly deserve the trophy this year.

I want to give you a heads-up on a special event I'm helping emcee that's taking place next Saturday night for the young niece of an old buddy of mine. "Atlanta Has A Heart" is a benefit concert/jam for three-year old Lana Turner, daughter of Brit & Shannon Turner. Brit is the drummer for Blackberry Smoke. Lana was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma Cancer in December 2009 and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. 100% of the proceeds will go to The Lana Turner Cancer Fund.

A Night of Music - Hope - Love! is at the Peachtree Tavern in Buckhead on Saturday Feb.13.
The party starts at 8:00 with GRIP, Atlanta's #1 Party & #1 Requested Biker Band! An All Star Music Jam will include appearances by:

Members of drivin n cryin
Lee Roy Parnell (legendargy singer, songwriter & slide guitarist)
Caroline Aiken
Conner Christian (#7 on CMT chart)
Danny Chauncey & Bobby Capps of (38 Special)
B.B. Queen (Marshall Tucker Band, Mothers Finest)
Jupiter Coyote
Joey Huffman (Hank Williams Jr./drivin n cryin)
Nigel Dupree (Jackyl, Dixie Inc., Nigel Dupree Band)
Steve Stone (Atlanta Rythym Section)
Mike Martin (Fozzy/Stuck Mojo)
Bruce Smith (Swingin Richards)
Mike Froedge (Speed X/Doubledrive)
Craig Campbell (Nashville)
The Scott Little Band
Jeff Langston and Mike Roberts (Ledfoot Messiah)
Samantha Stroh
Rob Alex and Dan Woods (The Whiskey Theory)
Mack Crawford (formerly of Molly Hatchett),
Yacht Rock Review
with more to be added along with many special guests (and some surprise appearances)... including some of your favorite Atlanta Braves!

The intimate setting will only allow 400 tickets to be sold. Buy your tickets now. There will be no ticket sales at the door and this event will sell out. Tickets are only $15 and can be purchased through the link below. Even if you can't attend, you can still donate through this link:

What others are saying

  • The superbowl and The Who
During Roger Daltrey's recent "Use It or Loose It" tour, Roger talked about Pete writing a lot of new material for a new studio album to be followed by a tour in 2010. He talked about it as he criss crossed the country as well as in Charleston where we travelled to see the tour. His solo show was very intimate and he was so accessible. So it's great to see The Who finally getting the international nod to play the SuperBowl halftime. Roger should be in great voice as well as when he comes to town with Eric "I gotta cellphone" Clapton in March.
