Well, I guess it was bound to kick in at some point. Was feeling ok over the weekend after my 3rd chemo therapy but, boy, did the fatigue hit me yesterday! I woke up several times in the middle of the night last night feeling queasy, and can really feel it this morning. Aches and pains, sweats, nausea, gastric disturbances (did I make that up? I'm trying to be as lady-like as possible with my decriptives...) -- and just very weary. I'll tell you what, I don't know how people deal with stuff like this when they have a family at home to take care of, and/or work 9 hour days! I did get my shot of Neulasta yesterday to help keep my white blood cell count up, so not sure how many of these side effects are from that or from the chemo. I also went with Susan yesterday for her MRI -- she freakin' fell asleep during it!! Since I can get claustrophobic, I was so wired and tense when I had mine a few months ago, I couldn't stand it! She walked out looking like she just had a massage!!

My brother Mark and niece/Goddaughter Lucy are flying in today to visit for a few days, so I'm hoping I'll feel better after a long nap so I can enjoy them.

Ok, please excuse this deviation if you are sick to death of the Michael Jackson stuff, but as long as I'm feeling crabby... as I was getting ready this morning watching the overnight news, they showed M J's dad on the red carpet the other night for the BET awards, plugging his new record label -- NO KIDDING, it was insane to watch! It's bad enough to have the media make such a spectacle about M J, but his family needs to grab the hook and pull dear ol' dad out of the public eye -- he's disgraceful!! I know every family has issues, but am I ever thankful for the one I've got!

What others are saying

  • Feeling it
You are so strong, it took til 3rd chemo for you to feel it? Your right it could be the Neulasta. My best friend used to get those shots, and they made her feel worse than the chemo did. Stay stong, and keep on rocking, Atlanta needs it.
  • Feeling it
Hang in there, your Almost done, then on to radiation. You are so strong to be able to keep on working and do the yukky chemo.
  • Hang In
I'm recovering from back surgery, but I don't know how you do it. Work and Chemo too. You are one heck of a gal.
  • Keep up the fight....
I know first hand what you are feeling. Keep the peanut butter cheese crackers or just plain crackers handy. They can help fight off the nausea. Leave the tequila in the cabinet for now. If Georgia gets in line with California and allows medical use of that imported Colombian recreational tobacco, it helps a great deal.

Keep yer wig on! Of course you look great without it, even in the Sunshine.
