You may have heard that I was diagnosed with breast cancer two months ago. Since I spoke about my lumpectomy on the radio, the outpouring of prayers, best wishes, information, and shared stories from River listeners and friends has been overwhelming to me. I am blown away by how many people have been closely touched by this devastating disease! I'm inspired to keep you a- "breast" of my situation by sharing my (and maybe even your) experiences via this blog. If sharing info can help even one person get checked, then this will be a successful endeavor!
I'm starting chemo this Friday. Of course, I am feeling tentative about that and am trying to have a sense of humor about it. Thankfully, there is something inherently funny about the word, "wig." More on that tomorrow.
Btw, I am excited about this morning's concert announcement - STEVIE WONDER at the Verizon Wireless Amphoitheater June 24th. My brother saw this show in Philly last year and said it was fantastic! Tickets are on sale Monday at 10am.
