When Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler entered a rehabilitation facility recently, the reason that was released for public consumption was that he was there for physical therapy following foot surgery. As it turns out, his stint in rehab was a little more complicated than that.
Tyler has now admitted that he was an addicted to prescription medication. The 60-year-old rocker apparently became dependent on pain and sleep medication that was prescribed to help him deal with foot surgery.
With a history of drug and alcohol abuse, Tyler apparently recognized that he was headed in the wrong direction and wisely checked himself into rehab. He reportedly said that he "didn't like the me that was me."
Tyler's substance abuse during the 1970's and 1980's prompted him to enter rehab during 1986, which led to a successful comeback for the group.
After months of speculation about a new album and a possible tour to follow, it is now official. AC/DC will embark on a world tour in October, possibly on the 31st, otherwise known as Halloween. The tour will be a long one -- lasting a total of 18 months. No details have yet been revealed about where exactly the tour will be taking them, although it
is reported that the tour will begin in the U.S., and a total of 17 countries will host the group.
Although there still seems to be some uncertainty over the title of the new album, the name that has been overheard most often is Black Ice, which some sources claim is the official chosen title. Despite any uncertainty, the album's first single, entitled "Runaway Train," is scheduled to be on the way to radio stations in August.
The group reportedly has plans to head for London early next month to record a new video for the single.
The new album, which is expected in October, will be the group's 15th studio album, and it is will be another exclusive deal for Wal-Mart. Something that has apparently worked out well recently for the Eagles, Journey and others.
This is the first time since 2001 that AC/DC has embarked on a tour, and that certainly sounds like a recipe for sold old arenas chock full of fans who badly need a dose of AC/DC live.

"The Dark Knight," the long-awaited superhero sequel from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, sold $155.3 million in tickets this weekend, according to early estimates from its distributor, setting a record for biggest three-day take and cementing the primacy of superhero movies at the cineplex. Batman's haul surpassed the bar set last year by Sony Pictures Entertainment's "Spider-Man 3" by $4.2 million and set the pace for what turned out to be the top-grossing overall box office weekend in U.S. history, with an estimated $253 million in ticket sales.
The previous top weekend was a $218 million take two years ago, when "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" opened.

The Rolling Stones' Ronnie Wood has reportedly entered rehab for a drinking problem. "Following Ronnie's continued battle with alcohol he has entered a period of rehab," Wood's spokeswoman said. "His close family and friends say he is seeking help and look forward to his recovery." Wood's struggle with substance abuse has been well-documented; one time, his drug use was so bad that Keith Richards (of all people) had to persuade Wood to get sober, sometimes using a knife or gun. According to Rolling Stone Magazine, the ultimate guitar hero, Jimi Hendrix, is finally coming to the Guitar Hero game franchise, according to Janie Hendrix, who oversees his estate. The Hendrix estate, which had difficulty locating the original masters until now, has delivered multiple songs -- including "Purple Haze," "Foxy Lady" and "Little Wing" -- to GH's developers, although it's not yet clear which tracks they will use. The next edition of the game, Guitar Hero: World Tour, hits stores October 27th.
The estate has also authorized an official Hendrix avatar for the game. "Guitar Hero really was on the ball and and they were biting at the bit to get this out this year, so, we just accommodated them," Janie Hendrix tells Rolling Stone. "Jimi was a kid at heart - he definitely would have played these games." A spokesperson for Red Octane/Activision had no comment.
